“Gut” —the word made up of three letters,  but having countless functions in our body. It carries out vital functions in our body, be it the immunity, mood, sleep hygiene, skin, digestion, absorption and what not.   1. Diet:- Our Diet plays a major role in affecting gut health. High consumption of processed foods, high salt intake and high saturated fats can affect good bacteria in your gut and increase the amount of bad bacteria which further creates Gut inflammation and gut related issues. 
  1. Not taking enough prebiotics:- Not only our consumption of processed and packaged food has increased but also it is lacking in Prebiotics. Prebiotics are a type of fiber, which is the food for our gut and also promotes the growth of friendly gut bacteria. Gut friendly fiber include - Apple, kidney beans, oats, banana, all types of vegetables etc. 
  1. No physical movement:- Physical inactivity also leads to poor gut health and less diverse gut microbiome. Our gut loves movement, spending at least half an hour in sweating it out promotes gut diversity because physical activity increases the abundance of beneficial bacteria.
  1. Too much stress:- Our gut and brain have a very strong connection. and if you are dealing with chronic stress from a long period of time, it will start impacting your gut by reducing its diversity which will create gut issues and hormonal imbalances like mood disorders, weight problems, sleep problems etc.

5. Antibiotics affect:- Although antibiotics are given to someone with illness but overdose of it can affect your gut’s good bacteria and can also cause gut dysbiosis. So, make sure you are not consuming them for too long and in high doses, make sure to focus on consuming probiotics and prebiotics to maintain your gut diversity.
