With periods, comes pain. Severity of cramps differs from person to person. Some get really bad cramps and some have mild or no cramps at all. But one thing is common that nobody likes period pain. There are so many ways to get rid of period cramps like heat pads, massage , hot water bottles and pain relieving medicines, but doing yoga is one of the best ways to relieve period cramps. Don't worry we got you covered. Here are 5 yoga poses that can help you to relieve the pain and the best part is you can do these in your bed if you don’t want to get out of your bed:
- Pigeon Pose :
- Move your right knee forward and keep the left leg straight behind you.
- Take a yoga block or some cushions and rest your head on it.
- Slowly release the pose and do it on the other side .
- Janusirsasana:
- Start with your left leg stretching forward and keep the right leg bent inside.
- Take a yoga block or a bottle or some cushions and rest your head over it.
- Make sure your body is relaxed.
- Once done with this side slowly move to do it on the other side.
- Modified Bridge Pose:
- Lie down on the mat.
- Keep a bolster or some cushions below in such a way that the lower back and hips rest over it so it gives you a gentle elevation.
- Keep the knees bent and if you like you can do this a bit longer.
- Once you are done with the pose you can slowly remove the bolster out.
- Badha Konasana:
- Lie down on your back and bring in your feets to join.
- Moving the knees away from each other will make you feel a release in the inner thighs and groin.
- Shavasana:
- Lie down on your back and place a bolster or some cushions below your knees to rest on.
- Keep your hands over the abdomen region and synchronise with your breathe.
- Keep your back totally touched with the ground.
- When you are done slowly rotate to the right side and get back to the seated position.
