Health issues for women doesn’t only mean breast cancer, heart diseases or age related osteoporosis. There are certain health issues that might not seem as a major concern in the first place but in the long run they can prove to be a precursor or trigger of some serious health issue. Sometimes the root cause for these issues can be hormonal imbalance and lifestyle problems which become a major concern. Here are some common women health issues which you might be ignoring but they need to be addressed.
Acne and Pimples:
Acne and pimples are a very common problem. Most of the time they are not serious but sometimes stubborn acne along with other symptoms like facial hair growth might indicate a hormonal issue. There are a number of factors that can trigger acne development. Some of these are:
- Attaining Puberty
- Diet
- Stress
- Environmental conditions
- Hormonal changes
- Genetics
- Certain meditations
Other than these, acne can be one of the symptoms of conditions like PCOS which is itself a hormonal issue. In PCOS, there is an increased level of androgen which stimulates sebaceous glands to produce more oil resulting in acne and pimples on face, neck, back and chest.
Here are some tips to manage acne and pimples:
- Wash your face after exercising or sweating
- Remove makeup before going to bed
- Avoid harsh scrubbing or popping pimples
- Take a healthy balanced diet
Hair fall:
Hair fall is a very common problem in women and it generally starts after puberty. Hair fall is considered normal if the hair falls and grows back in cycle. But if the hair fall is happening in massive amounts and your does not grow back it is a sign of some health issue. If this cycle remains persistent the hair volume decreases significantly, and it becomes important to consult a dermatologist to know the root cause. These are several reasons behind abnormal hair fall. It can happen due to genetics, hormonal changes, iron deficiency, stress, and medical conditions like PCOS, thyroid disease, biotin and protein deficiency.
Obesity:
According to the National Centre for Biotechnology Information, India has more than 30 million obese people and the rate is exponentially increasing. Some scientists believe that it is caused due to transition from a healthy diet to a diet which contains lots of fat and sugar. Obesity can be a trigger for several diseases like High blood pressure, High cholesterol, Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, Gallbladder disease, Heart attack and many more severe health issues.
Common problems like stubborn acne, hairfall, and obesity should not be ignored as they can sometimes be a symptom of some underlying health issues. It's always better to consult a doctor and get proper diagnosis and treatment.
