When it comes to breast health we try to look for abnormal signs but do we really know what’s normal? Sometimes there are certain things that are completely normal but we assume that they aren’t because of the set up beauty standards. And once we know what is normal it's easy to detect abnormalities.
Here, Dr. Niveditha explains 6 completely normal things about breasts
1. Size:
Both breasts don't have to be the same size. Your left breast can be bigger than your right breast and vice versa. So it's completely normal to have one breast bigger than the other.
2. Colour:
You can have the areola around the breast anywhere between light pink to a dark black colour. All these shades are normal and the pink colour doesn't imply perfection.
3. Positioning:
One breast can be lower than the other breast. If it was always that way it's completely normal.
4. Pain:
You can have a bit of pain in both your breasts during your menstrual cycle. An easy way to know if the pain is normal is if it happens in both of your breasts and every cycle during periods then it comes under cyclical pain and happens because of a change in hormones in the body.
5. Lump:
When you examine your breast you might feel it really lumpy on both the breasts around your cycle. If you feel both your breasts get lumpy around your periods and go away then it's normal.
6.Shapes:
Breast comes in different shapes for everybody. Some have large , some have small , some have perky and some have saggy breasts. But what’s important to understand is that all breasts are beautiful.
If you still feel something is wrong then go ahead with your gut feeling and get yourself checked. Once you get an assurance from the doctor you can be double sure.
