What is virginity and why shouldn't anyone obsess over it?

What is virginity?

Virginity is a social construct and the whole rationale behind it is that women shouldn't have sex before marriage but men can because women can loose their virginity.

How is this virginity assessed?

By the presence of intact hymen? Well, in short the presence or absence of a hymen is not an indicator of virginity. Also, it doesn't lessen the feeling of sex. There is a problem with people's thinking. The presence or absence of a hymen is not an indicator of sexual history. Why is men's obsession with virginity problematic?

Men use sex as something they are entitled to receive from women. As recently as 2020, a TV show on a mainstream Tv channel showed a husband doing a virginity test on his wife. They certainly aren't helping correct this notion. They are adding to the deep-rooted false belief that women are pure as long as they are virgins and their husbands take that virginity on their wedding night. Sex is a personal choice regardless of who you are. A woman is in complete control of her choices and decisions. She does not have to give in to the made-up sense of masculinity and save herself for marriage if she wants to have sex. In short, having sex doesn't make a girl bad and not having sex is not a quality of a good girl. Sex is just sex, it is an experience and a personal choice.

Stop asking some , if they are virgin? Why? Because she is not answerable to you and she does not have to justify her past to you or anyone. The biggest problem is that morals are connected to sex life when it comes to women. While on the other hand when it comes to men taking virginity and having sex is considered an achievement. If you are asking this question to anyone your morals should be looked into.
