Glow-in-the-dark makeup

The beautiful graphic eyeliners have taken over all of us and what makes a concert look better- glow in the dark makeup. Though they look Coachella-ready, but make your skin dermatologist ready. Whether it’s lipsticks or eyeshadows, most of the makeup under this category is loaded with harsh chemical substances and allergens, such as cadmium, lead, and phthalates. If we count the side effects, the least dangerous is skin allergy. If the toxic components are absorbed in your body, it could lead to severe health risks or disrupt your hormones and, in some cases even have carcinogenic effects.

The best way to protect yourself is to purchase these kinds of cosmetics from trusted brands that use safe ingredients. Never miss reading the ingredient list, it can be tedious but worth saving your life. Avoid using makeup for long hours and never forget to clean it before sleeping. A minute with micellar can prevent hours in the hospital.

Skin fit clothing

Though skinny jeans were a millennial thing, skin fit clothing is still a thing. Is there a better revenge dress than a little black bodycon and the best go to outfit never misses a tank top. The list of events where skin-tight clothing fits is never ending so are its negative effects on your body. Many times it restricts your blood vessels and hinders your blood flow, this could lead to serious health conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Tight clothing can exert pressure on your stomach and abdomen causing heartburn or acid reflux. Women who often wear tight clothing have a higher chance of developing vaginal infections as the warm moist environment created due to tight clothing promotes bacterial growth.

Few changes can keep your look intact as well as your health. Avoid polyester and nylon while purchasing skin-tight clothing and always prefer well-fitted clothes over skin-tight clothes. Let your body breathe and feel better in every outfit you choose.

Colored contacts

A pair of gray-coloured contacts is better on a date, not the tacky pair of specs. While you look perfect you might not see perfect after a while. Apart from the regular eye discomfort and irritation, these pretty little lenses create an obstacle in the oxygen supply to the cornea, which could develop hypoxia. It leads to swelling, redness, blurry vision, or for the worst corneal damage.

To avoid the dreaded fate, always get a prescription from an eye care professional even if you don’t require vision correction. Avoid wearing colored contacts for hours and never share them. You can always substitute your eyewear but can’t swap your eyes so be cautious of what you put on them.

False eyelashes

These days, a makeup look is not complete unless there are big beautiful lashes on your eyes. They do enhance your look but the eyelash adhesive or eyelash material can lead to allergies or infection. It not only weakens your natural eyelash hair follicles but misapplication could scrape off the cornea which can be extremely painful and infectious. Excessive long lashes can obstruct your peripheral vision as well.

Always consult a professional while getting your false eyelashes and go for a quality product. The cheap set online can lead to serious after-effects. Ensure proper hygiene while applying and storing your lashes.

Sequin outfits

Best believe you’re still bejeweled and make the whole place shimmer in your sequin dress. Surely the dress is the talk of the room when you adorn it to the party but it’s also definite that it could be disrupting your endocrine system. At times the sequins are made of Bisphenol A and Phthalates. These materials are notoriously known for interfering with the hormonal balance in your body and potentially causing developmental & reproductive issues.

A little work behind the materials while purchasing your sequin dress can prevent later health risks. By layering a thin breathable material under your dress, you could reduce skin contact and prevent the side effects to a greater extent.

Fashion has always been a fairytale, staying on your fashion runway is great but some trends are better missed. Before recreating any look consider its impact on your body, trends are gonna come and go but your health is in for the long run.
