It is fat like substance found in your body which is reponsible to make vitamins amd certain hormones in your body. Although cholesterol is important to make all these functions in your body work , but excess of this cholesterol may be fatal of humans.

Cholesterol like we discussed above is responsible to make certain vitamins and hormones in your body which ensure smooth funtioning of it but at the same time , cholesterol may prove to be super harmful as well. Cholesterol is sticky in nature and may cause buildups which may eventually cause coronary artery diseases. It may also cause blood clots , angina or heart attack , and peripheral artery diseases. Doctors and experts have stated that people who practice unhealthy eating habits , smoke , of consume high amounts of alcohol may face cholesterol realted issues quite frequently.

Foods that lower cholesterol

  1. Vegetable oils : cholesterol is caused due to fatty oils and hence a good way to cut is down is to use oils which come from seeds and fruits such as canola , sunflower and etc.
  2. Beans : beans are heavy to digest but anyone who consumes them may be left full. These are high in soluble fibre and consuming them can also lower your unhealthy diet. 
  3. Soy : it is assumed that food which include soy such as soy milk or tofu is a great way to cholesterol and it is right , because consumption of protein is a great way to reduce LDL.
  4. Citrus fruits : citrus fuits are rich in pectin which lowers LDL by great margins.
  5. Oats : oats and oat based cereals are the most active source of soluble fiber known and they are extremely effective in lowering cholesterol.

High cholesterol or the excess of LDL does not show any visible effects in ones daily life or has no specific symptoms.
