Now that we are finally ready to accept our naturally curly hair, let us delve into the world of taking care of your curls. Curls are unique and, hence, require some unique and different methods. Your hair needs moisture the most. Moisture in the air and pollution can cause breakage and damage to your hair.

Frizz is the worst enemy of a curly-headed girl, but there are ways to keep flyaways at bay. You might even lose your hair due to moisture and weather changes. Hair fall can be another big issue to solve.

  1. You can take honey and ripe bananas mixed with curd and coconut oil. Apply it for 15 minutes and rinse it off with a sulfate-free clearing shampoo. Honey and curd will make your curls shiny and soft to the touch. Bananas will help provide magnesium for your hair and lock in moisture. Curd will also help with hair loss.

  2. Avocados are good for both your gut and your hair. A ripe avocado and honey mixed with any oil of your choice can help nourish and strengthen your hair with vitamins and protein. Well, yes, your hair needs protein to grow.

  3. Rice water is a magic tonic, as some studies suggest. You can soak the rice overnight and use that water to rinse your hair to strengthen your follicles and prevent breakage.

Hair masks, if applied every 2 weeks, can help you grow healthy and strong curls.

After some much-needed hair nourishment, you need to make sure your hair looks good even on the second day after a head wash. Although it is a bit difficult to keep your curls intact for days if you are out and about in pollution and moisture, there are ways you can protect them from breakage. Every curly hair type requires a different kind of protection. For instance, if you have coily hair, you might need extra moisture to prevent breakage in the form of serums.

Cotton pillowcases are your worst enemy when it comes to protecting your hair from breakage.

You can use bonnets and silk pillowcases to keep your hair from losing shape and breaking due to friction at night.

Your curls are crying for help; please look after them and fall in love with them!
